The VIAIPI Restaurant features a three-story covered dining space, designed to immerse guests in a uniquely tropical and sustainable atmosphere.
At the heart of the design is a living green wall, constructed using pakis, a local plant with aerial roots that, when compacted, form a naturally spongy structure. This wall not only shades and cools the interior but also functions as a vertical ecosystem. A continuous drip of water enriches the pakis with mineral salts, encouraging the growth of parasitic plants, which thrive in the humid, shaded environment.
The building itself was constructed entirely from metal, chosen for its speed of assembly and structural efficiency. Inside, the design draws on Balinese cultural references and evokes a distinctly tropical ambiance, blending natural materials with contemporary construction techniques.
