“La Luce” Italian Restaurant Rooftop, Sinarmas Tower
Indonesia, Jakarta – 2015
Located at the top of the Sinarmas Tower, this proposal envisioned a restaurant with a 360-degree
panoramic view over the Jakarta skyline.
“La Luce” is one of Indonesia’s most renowned brands for Italian cuisine, and the concept aimed to reflect
both its prestige and versatility. The design proposed the use of locally sourced tree trunks, an affordable
yet evocative material in Indonesia, to create a dreamlike, immersive atmosphere atop the skyscraper.
The restaurant was conceived to serve two distinct functions:
- By day, a ceramic service line was designed specifically for quick, casual Asian lunches catering to
the office crowd within the tower. - By night, the space would transform into a sophisticated and intimate setting, offering a refined
Italian dining experience.
Though the project remained at the proposal stage, it demonstrated a sensitive and imaginative approach
to material use, spatial duality, and cultural fusion.
